DEHRADUN, 12 Feb: District Magistrate Savin Bansal has initiated several major efforts to provide convenient facilities for the people of Dehradun city, especially for women. Recently, he had toured the city on a motorcycle with SSP Ajai Singh and other officers concerned to assess and ensure proper arrangements in this respect. During the inspection, he had selected sites for pink and general toilet facilities in the markets and other prominent locations in the city. Work to begin construction soon is already underway in seven locations in Dehradun.
The government has approved the DM’s proposal for the construction of pink and general toilets in the main markets. With work progressing rapidly, financial approval of Rs 1.609 crore has been obtained from the government for the construction of these facilities in Paltan Bazaar and other areas of Dehradun city. Pink and general toilets will be built at Ramesh Book Depot (Pink toilet), Dispensary Road Parking (Pink toilet), Raja Road-2 (Urinal), near Gaylord Shoes (Urinal), near Rajiv Gandhi Complex (Pink toilet), Tehsil Chowk Parking (Male and Female toilet), and under Ballupur Chowk Flyover (Male and Female toilet). These initiatives aim to provide easy and hygienic facilities for the public, particularly women, ensuring a more comfortable and convenient experience for commuters in Dehradun.
