Haridwar, 17 Feb: Former MLA from Khanpur, Kunwar Pranav Singh ‘Champion’, currently in Haridwar Prison in Roshanabad, is reportedly ill and has been referred to Dehradun for advanced treatment. Sources said that Champion is likely to be shifted to Dehradun.

It may be recalled that following an incident of firing at Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar’s Camp Office in Laksar, Champion was arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody in Roshanabad prison. He has reportedly been sick for the past few days and has now been referred to a higher medical centre in Dehradun. Champion will be shifted to Doon tomorrow morning.

Officials shared that after complaining of severe stomach pain and bloody diarrhoea late on Saturday night, he was immediately taken to the district hospital. Doctors conducted an ultrasound, X-ray, ECG, and blood tests, diagnosing him with colitis and gastroenteritis, commonly known as stomach flu. However, concerns arose due to blood in his stool, leading to the decision to refer him for higher-level investigation.

Under the supervision of PMS Dr Vijayesh Bhardwaj, senior physician Dr Manish, EMS doctor Swati Verma, and Dr Pankaj were engaged in his treatment. According to the hospital administration, his condition remained stable, but complications warranted a referral for better treatment. The ultrasound also revealed a second-grade fatty liver problem, necessitating extra caution. The presence of fatty liver along with gastroenteritis can have a long-term effect on his health, requiring expert supervision.

Champion had been admitted to the private ward of the district hospital, but doctors advised transferring him to Dehradun for advanced facilities and specialist treatment. His detailed examination and necessary treatment will now be conducted in Dehradun, it was shared by the authorities.
