DEHRADUN, 20 Feb: Dr Arti Luthra, as Project Coordinator for EAGLE, facilitated Live Workshop for surgical hands-on training. The live Laparoscopic Training Workshop was organized as part of the EAGLE project hosted by SGRR Institute of Medical Sciences. This workshop drew together medical professionals eager to enhance their skills in minimally invasive surgery, offering hands-on training and insights into critical Laparoscopic techniques.
Dr Arti Luthra and Dr Anupama Sethi, prominent members of the IAGE (Endoscopy Committee), expertly led the event, supported by the guidance of Dr Vineeta Gupta, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department. The program was met with enthusiastic participation, drawing in around 45 participants, including budding surgeons and seasoned specialists alike. This seminar was particularly significant as it provided an extraordinary opportunity for participants to observe live surgeries performed by experienced surgeons, thus bridging the gap between theory and practice.
The live demonstrations included six key surgical techniques: Laparoscopic Myomectomy, Laparoscopic Dermoid Cyst Removal, Laparoscopic Removal of Tubo-Ovarian Mass and Hydrosalpinx, Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy, and Hysteroscopic Surgeries. Each technique was carefully illustrated by the lead surgeons—Dr Arti LuthraDr Vineeta Gupta, Dr Anupama Sethi, and other faculty members—allowing participants to witness the nuanced steps involved in each procedure. This hands-on experience is invaluable, providing insights into the precision and skill required to perform laparoscopic surgeries effectively.
The EAGLE project, and EEE “Endoscopy for Everyone, Everywhere,” embodies the goal of making advanced endoscopic techniques accessible to medical practitioners across the nation. Under the visionary leadership of Dr Sunita Tendulwadkar, President of FOGSI, and Dr Sejal Naik, Chairperson of the Endoscopy Committee, this initiative aims to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and confidence needed to excel in endoscopic surgery.
A highlight of the workshop was its seamless organization, reflecting a commitment to high standards in surgical education. The event commenced with an inauguration ceremony led by Dr Ashok Nayak, the Principal of SGRR, alongside Dr Arti LuthraDr Vineeta Gupta, Dr Anupama Sethi, and other esteemed faculty members. There were two deliberations to enlighten the participants on the safety of endoscopy. All PGs got training on Pelvi Trainers to enhance their suturing skills.
