Dehradun, 3 Mar: Tehri MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah chaired a meeting of the Dehradun District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (Disha) at the Manthan Auditorium of the Forest Headquarters here today. During the meeting, she conducted a detailed review of the development schemes run by the Central Government through various departments in the public interest. She emphasised on the importance of mutual harmony among public representatives and officials for the effective implementation of public interest schemes.
At the meeting, she also praised the work being done by Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal.
The MP directed that the targets of centrally funded schemes should be completed with quality. In response to numerous complaints regarding the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and Jal Jeevan Mission, she instructed the concerned departments to resolve the issues immediately. She stressed the need for pothole-free roads with proper water drainage on PMGSY roads. Additionally, she also laid stress on identifying malnourished children and providing them with nutrition kits on time. While reviewing MNREGA works, she insisted on prompt payment of remaining liabilities. She also directed departmental officers to ensure that information about development schemes is communicated to public representatives.
The MP praised District Magistrate Savin Bansal for his excellent work in the field of education in Dehradun, noting that Sarva Shiksha is a government priority. She discussed making all necessary efforts for better education for children. During the meeting, she reviewed the progress of various centrally funded schemes, including National Highways, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak, Jal Jeevan Mission, Sarva Shiksha, PM Nutrition, NHM, Smart City, Telecom, Digital India, PM Self-Employment, Child Development, Social Assistance, PM Agriculture and Irrigation, MNREGA, Swachh Bharat Mission, and PM Housing.
MLAs and committee members presented the problems faced in various development schemes and discussed their resolution. Senior officials updated the MP on the progress of centrally funded schemes in the district. It was shared that out of 19 approved roads by PMGSY, the construction of nine roads has been completed. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, 129,538 FHTCs have been installed. Out of 21 projects under Dehradun Smart City, 20 have been completed, and the Green Building project is in progress. The construction of 178 out of 350 Anganwadi buildings in the district has been completed. In Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen, 1,297 out of the target of 1,330 housing units for 2023-24 have been completed, with 33 in progress. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Urban, 837 out of 1,101 units have been completed, with 231 under construction.
The meeting was attended amongst others by Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Sahaspur MLA Sahdev Pundir, Doiwala MLA Brij Bhushan Gairola, Municipal Council President Neeru Devi, Disha Committee members Vandana Bisht and Divya Rana, District Magistrate Savin Bansal, Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, ADM KK Mishra, Additional Municipal Commissioner Hemant Kumar Verma, and district-level officers of various departments.
