DEHRADUN, 29 Mar: There are unlimited opportunities available for women in the field of science, stated Susheela Devi Negi, a scientist at the Central Government’s Ministry of Science and Technology, at a seminar organized at Graphic Era.
A seminar ‘Unlocking Potential: Empowering Women in Science Careers’ was organised at Graphic Era Deemed University. Addressing the seminar as the chief guest, scientist Susheela Devi Negi said that we will have to work together to increase the participation of women in the field of science and technology. For this, women need to be encouraged and given the necessary resources and support to advance their careers in the field of science. Negi listed out the various government schemes through slides. These include schemes like Women in Science and Engineering (WISE), Women Instinct for Development and Ushering in Scientific Heights and Innovations (WIDUSHI) and Gender Advancement for Transforming Institutions (GATI) for school-going girl students. The programme was organized by the Biotechnology department.
Head of the department Rupak Nagrik along with Manu Pant, Organizing Secretary Tanvi Kaur, Vinod Kumar, Anita Pandey, Anju Rani, PhD scholars and students were present in the programme. The seminar was hosted by Jyotsana Mishra.
