Rajasthan Day celebrated at Raj Bhavan in Doon

Dehradun, 30 Mar: Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) participated in a programme organised at the Raj Bhavan here, today, on the occasion of Rajasthan Foundation Day in the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”.

The Governor extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Rajasthan on behalf of the entire state. On this occasion, Rajasthani students residing in Uttarakhand presented captivating glimpses of Rajasthan’s rich heritage, folk culture, and art through cultural performances.

The Governor highlighted that Rajasthan, established on 30 March 1949 is renowned across the country for its bravery, art, music, folk traditions, and development. Historically and culturally, Rajasthan holds a significant place in India. The state is famous worldwide for its rich heritage and tourism. He also paid tribute to the legendary warriors of Rajasthan, including Maharana Pratap, Prithviraj Chauhan, and Veer Durgadas Rathore, whose courage and valour remain an inspiration. The magnificent forts and palaces of Rajasthan symbolise the golden chapters of history.

The Governor emphasised that, to foster unity and cultural exchange among states, a unique initiative has been launched to celebrate the foundation days of all states at Raj Bhavans across the country. This will strengthen inter-state relations and promote cultural integration.

On this occasion, Additional Secretary to the Governor, Swati S Bhadauria, and Financial Controller Dr Tripti Srivastava were also present.
