Anand Bardhan reviews progress of Ayushman Bharat, Vishwakarma Yojana

Dehradun, 16 Apr: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan conducted a comprehensive review of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) and the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana at the Secretariat here today. During the review, Bardhan sought detailed information from officials concerning the ongoing schemes.

The Chief Secretary (CS) also instructed the officers to expedite the establishment of the Block Public Health Unit, District Integrated Public Health Laboratory (DIPHL), and Critical Care Block under the PM-ABHIM, and to commence their operations at the earliest. He emphasised the necessity of presenting a time-bound action plan for the completion and operationalisation of these units. Further, he directed that monitoring should be conducted at both the state and district levels to ensure timely implementation of the schemes. The CS also instructed that Chief Medical Officers undertake weekly inspections of these units and also called for a prompt submission of utility certificates to the Government of India for those units where construction has been completed.

Regarding the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, Bardhan stressed on the importance of maximising beneficiary registration. He directed that all pending applications at the District Implementation Committee and Urban Local Body levels be resolved expeditiously. He further stressed the need for continuous monitoring to ensure artisans receive maximum benefit. Emphasis was also laid on promoting the sale of handloom and handicraft products through e-commerce platforms under the Vishwakarma Yojana. The CS also suggested that arrangements be made for providing stalls for the state’s products in Unity Malls of other states as well.

Also present on the occasion were Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Dr R Rajesh Kumar and Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Secretaries Vijay Kumar Jogdande and Swati Bhadauria.
