CM directs officials to strengthen security, infrastructure across Uttarakhand

Dhami orders action against fake news

Dehradun, 28 Apr: Chairing a virtual meeting held at his Official Residence here, today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials that security measures be kept stringent at all the religious and tourist sites across the state, with special focus on the Char Dham Yatra. He also asked the District Magistrates to conduct regular monitoring in their respective jurisdictions in this respect. The CM asserted that immediate action be taken against those spreading misinformation through various mediums during the Char Dham Yatra and other significant matters, while correct information should be disseminated to the public by the authorities. In addition, the CM also instructed that tenders amounting to Rs 10 crores be allocated exclusively to local contractors.

The CM also issued directives to the officials to ensure strict verification of tenants across the state. He insisted that persons residing in carts, stalls, and slums be also verified on a mandatory basis. He further ordered a stringent action against those issuing ration cards, Aadhaar cards, electricity connections, Ayushman cards, and other official documents to ineligible persons. Officers from all departments should be deployed to conduct verification processes effectively, Dhami asserted.

The CM also emphasised the importance of forest fire management and directed the officials concerned to take severe action against those found responsible for fire incidents. Additionally, necessary arrangements should also be made to control the spread of dengue, including regular fogging and awareness campaigns to educate the public on preventive measures.

Dhami directed the hospital authorities and others concerned to ensure uninterrupted services in the hospitals and to maintain smooth electricity supply, while arrangements must be made for adequate availability of drinking water across the state. the CM stated that all possible measures be enforced to ensure a steady supply of electricity and water in the state

Ahead of the forthcoming Kainchi Dham Annual Festival, Dhami directed the authorities to ensure proper parking arrangements and the maintenance of roads.

The CM further instructed District Magistrates to conduct surprise inspections of various offices to ensure efficiency in operations and swift resolution of public grievances. He stressed on the necessity of holding multipurpose camps, tehsil days, and BDC meetings on a regular basis. Progress in the installation of smart meters is to be monitored, and complaints regarding electricity bills addressed with urgency.

Dhami directed the officials that strict action shall be taken against individuals responsible for damaging government property. He also asked the DMs to engage in consistent dialogue with industry stakeholders.

He further shared that to promote the Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme, districts have been assigned specific targets to achieve. The CM also underscored the necessity of efficient traffic management and the upkeep of roads along the Char Dham Yatra route. Commenting on certain reports that large number of horse and mule operators were being called from UP for the Yatra, the CM insisted that local horse and mule operators should be prioritised for services related to the pilgrimage. The CM also added that cleanliness and beautification efforts be undertaken alongside provisions for essential facilities for devotees. He asked the authorities to also ensure that the Yatra route rate lists are properly reviewed, preventing complaints regarding overcharging.

Among those present at the virtual meeting included Principal Secretaries RK Sudhanshu and R Meenakshi Sundaram, ADG Police Anshuman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, and all the District Magistrates of the state.
