Dehradun, 30 Apr: Senior BJP leader Ravindra Jugran has written to the Secretary, Higher Education, Uttarakhand Government, expressing serious concern over the 80 percent vacant posts related to both teaching and non-teaching staff in MKP PG College in Dehradun. He warned that in case the recruitment process is not initiated promptly, he would be compelled to seek legal intervention through the courts.

In his letter written to the Secretary, Higher Education, Jugran mentioned the alarming situation, stating that, if the vacancies remain unaddressed, the college would face closure within three years. He pointed out that 95 percent of the existing teaching and non-teaching staff are set to retire during this period, leaving the institution in a dire state.

Jugran further emphasised the urgent need for action to ensure the smooth functioning of the college, which has been a significant centre of education in the region for women. He urged the government to prioritise the recruitment process to prevent disruption in academic activities and to ensure that the future of students and staff alike are safeguarded.
