Mussoorie, 25 May: A special blood donation camp was organised in the Barlowganj area of Mussoorie, today, in which hundreds of local citizens, youth and social workers participated enthusiastically. This camp was organised for a special purpose apart from general health services – to donate blood for the soldiers of the Indian Army. It was organised in collaboration with local social organisations and the health department. A total of more than 100 units of blood were collected in the camp, which will be sent to army hospitals so that the lives of injured soldiers can be saved in emergency situations.

Camp organiser Prince Panwar said, “We cannot express our appreciation of the sacrifice of our brave soldiers in words, but through blood donation we feel relieved to be able to do something for them.” He said that blood donation camps are being organised continuously for the last three years. This year’s blood donation camp is dedicated to the Indian Army.

He said that the enthusiasm of the youth in blood donation was worth seeing. Local college students participated in large numbers and gave the message that the new generation is always ready to serve the nation. Social workers of Mussoorie have raised the morale of the soldiers through this initiative. It is not only a means of help, but also a symbol of emotional bonding. Blood was collected under the supervision of Dev Bhoomi Blood Centre and proper counselling and certificates were also provided to the donors.
