Cooperation Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat visits Dairy Cooperatives in Godhra

Godhra, 10 Jul: During his official visit to Gujarat, Uttarakhand’s Cooperation Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat toured the District Cooperative Panchamrut Milk Producers’ Union Ltd, Godhra, and the Ashapura Chhariya Milk Union Committee. The Minister closely observed the processes of milk collection, processing, and distribution, and was briefed on the institutions’ working mechanisms and innovative practices.

Established in 1973, the Panchamrut Milk Producers’ Union has become a vital economic pillar for rural dairy farmers in the Panchmahal district. Over the years, the union has empowered the local dairy sector through technological innovation and strong cooperative principles.

During the visit, officials provided a detailed overview of the advanced technologies used in the dairy, including quality testing laboratories, cold storage infrastructure, and services provided to livestock farmers. Representatives from the Ashapura Chhariya Milk Union Committee informed the Minister about their ongoing efforts to promote self-reliance among rural women and livestock owners.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat remarked, “Gujarat’s cooperative dairy model is a shining example for the rest of the country. The Uttarakhand government is committed to drawing inspiration from such successful systems and aims to strengthen the cooperative movement in the state.” He appreciated the work being done by these institutions and expressed his resolve to promote similar models in Uttarakhand to enhance dairy cooperatives through technology and economic empowerment.

Also present during the visit were Jetha Bhai Ahir (Bharwad), Chairman of the District Cooperative Panchamrut Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., along with other senior officials.
