DEHRADUN, 19 Jul: In a ceremony organized at Graphic Era, Justice of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia said that the Indian Constitution is not just a Constitution but a symbol of unity and integrity. He gave the mantra to the youth to take every decision in life with honesty and courage.
Justice Dhulia was addressing the ceremony organized at the Silver Jubilee Convention Center of Graphic Era Deemed University on Saturday as the keynote speaker. Justice Dhulia said that the Constitution is not just a legal document, but it is the soul of India and the basis of the democratic system. Referring to Article 14, he said that it gives every person the right to equality before the law, which is the foundation of social justice. Giving several examples, he said that equality has been given a place in the Constitution not in a mechanical way, but in a social and practical way.
He said that it is not enough to know your rights, but it is also necessary to understand your duties and respect the values of the Constitution. While taking any decision in life, it should be kept in mind that those decisions should be taken with honesty and courage so that they are correct. Describing tolerance and cultural diversity as the strength of Indian democracy, he appealed youth to study the Constitution deeply and become responsible citizens.
Justice Dhulia said that the Directive Principles of State Policy are such guiding principles of the Constitution, which inspire the government to work for the welfare of every section of the society. These principles play an important role in establishing economic and social justice. Justice Dhulia said that our Constitution is also different because we did not take it from anywhere, but freedom fighters, scholars, lawyers, journalists and leaders have prepared it after discussing every point in detail. He said that every citizen should know about the Constitution. Justice Dhulia elaborated on the basic spirit of the Indian Constitution, especially Article 14, equality, tolerance, value-based society and Directive Principles of State Policy.
The Supreme Court judge said that India is different from other countries because it is a country of diversity where language, food, clothing changes in every 100 kilometers, despite this unity is maintained in India. Unity in our nation has been achieved through the constitution. Our Constitution is also unique in itself because it gives importance to human dignity. Human dignity can be understood through literature, poetry and cinema. Quoting the statements of many scholars of the world, he made the youth aware of human dignity, values and behavior.
While lauding the exceptional contribution of Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions,Kamal Ghanshala in the field of education, he said that Graphic Era on Saturday is like a huge tree, which is offering fruits to the society in the form of knowledge, innovation and discipline.
Justice Dhulia also recited the lines of Urdu writer Fahmida Riaz: ..yeh waqt nahi phir aayega  tum apni karni kar guzaro, jo hoga dekha jayega..
Earlier, on reaching Graphic Era Deemed University, Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Prof Kamal Ghanshala welcomed Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia. Pro Chancellor Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, while highlighting the activities and achievements of the university, said that along with quality education in Graphic Era, special attention is given to social justice, values based knowledge and women empowerment of the students. Dean School of Law,  Daisy Alexander highlighted the life history of Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia. Pro Vice Chancellor, Santosh S. Saraf delivered vote of thanks.
Vice Chancellor Narpinder Singh, Labor Court Presiding Officer Kahkasha Khan, High Court Senior Advocate BP Nautiyal, SDM Harigiri, Joint Director Prosecution GC Pancholi, Registrar Naresh Kumar Sharma and many officials, including teachers and students attended the ceremony. The event was hosted by MP Singh.

said that Uttarakhand became a state after a long struggle and many
sacrifices. Some of its cities have a modern feel.
In Graphic Era, he said that he was a lawyer in Allahabad. When
Uttarakhand was formed, he came here thinking that he could do
something new here, start something. He could bring some good
things. He is not saying that nothing happened. It did happen, many
people find the roads better. A modern feeling comes in Dehradun
and some other places. There are some other big cities.
