LUCKNOW, 19 Jul: Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), during his official visit to Uttar Pradesh, paid a courtesy call on Anandiben Patel,
Governor of UP at the Raj Bhavan. The two Governors held discussions on several important topics including education, women empowerment, strengthening of health services, and inter-university collaboration and coordination.
Following this, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, also met with the Uttarakhand Governor for a courtesy meeting. During the interaction, both dignitaries discussed issues related to the holistic development of both states, such as education, higher education, infrastructure development, and key developmental initiatives.
Governor Singh shared details about the “One University, One Research” initiative being implemented in Uttarakhand, highlighting how the programme is strengthening the role of universities in the fields of research and innovation. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath fondly recalled the spiritual and cultural significance of Uttarakhand and expressed his deep personal connection with the state.
