Uttaranchal varsity celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas

DEHRADUN, 26 July: The 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated with patriotic fervour on Saturday at the Shaurya Diwar on the premises of Uttaranchal University.
In an opening statement, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Rajesh Bahuguna who was the special guest, recounted the heroic saga of the Kargil war. He said that this day is celebrated to salute the heroes of the Kargil war and to mark India’s victory over Pakistan in the famous Kargil war. He said that in this war, 527 brave soldiers of the country made the supreme sacrifice and were martyred.
Vice-president of the University Ankita Joshi was present as the Chief Guest and Vice Chancellor Dharmabuddhi as special guest. On this occasion, the martyrs were saluted by offering flowers on the pictures of Param Vir Chakra winners on the Shaurya wall of the university. May the martyrs of Kargil remain immortal, may K Vikram Batra and Lt Manoj Kumar Pandey, who received the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, remain immortal, and the whole atmosphere reverberated with slogans like Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav and Rifleman Sanjay Kumar Zindabad and Bharat Mata Ki Jai and was filled with patriotism.
Among those who paid tribute,  Ankita Joshi, Dharam Buddhi, Rajesh Bahuguna professors Pradeep Suri, Ajay Singh, Sumit Chaudhary,  Shravan Kumar, Sonal Sharma, Vikas Jakhmola, Sharad Pandey, Manish Badoni, doctors Amit Bhatt, Radheshyam Jha, Ramveer Tanwar,  Abhiranjan Dixit, Sarveshvar Prasad, and a large number of teachers officers, teachers, employees and students of the University were in attendance. The programme was organized under the joint aegis of the NCC wing of the University and the Legal Aid Center of Law College Dehradun.
