Dehradun, 8 Aug: The Police have filed a case against three people for sharing and commenting on an objectionable post related to the natural disaster in Dharali. A person named Ali Sohrab had uploaded pictures of the tragedy caused by a cloudburst on his Facebook account. He posted before-and-after photos with a hurtful caption.

After this, some other people, including Danish Malik and Ahmed Ansari, made offensive comments on the post. These comments hurt the religious feelings of local people from Uttarkashi and seemed like an attempt to spread hatred and tension between communities.

When the post went viral, SSP Dehradun took it seriously and ordered legal action. Based on a complaint by Sub-Inspector Vicky Tamta, an FIR (Case Number 295/25) was registered at Kotwali Nagar Police Station. The case is filed under Sections 299 and 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Ali Sohrab, Danish Malik, Ahmed Ansari, and others.

Police have warned people not to post or share anything on social media that can hurt feelings or disturb peace in society, especially during sensitive times like natural disasters.
