DEHRADUN/NEW DELHI, 23 Aug: In the midst of speculation in the political circles in Uttarakhand regarding former chief minister and currently the Haridwar MP leaving a core BJP meeting midway in Delhi, Trivendra Rawat on Saturday called on BJP’s State In charge of Uttarakhand, Dushyant Gautam at the BJP’s national headquarters in New Delhi. He was accompanied by Pauri Garhwal MP, Anil Baluni who was also conspicuous by his absence from Friday’s meeting.
Saturday’s meeting was probably held in order to convey that all is well in Uttarakhand BJP in sharp contrast to what is being speculated in the political circles. It may be recalled that on Friday, a meeting of BJP MPs and senior BJP leaders from Uttarakhand was held in New Delhi and was attended by BJP’s State In charge, Dushyant Gautam, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Minister and Almora MP, Ajay Tamta and Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt. Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat and Tehri MP Mala Rajyalaxmi Shah were also present in the meeting but the speculation that went viral late Friday evening was that some differences had flared up during the course of the meeting and then Rawat left the meeting midway while. Pauri MP Anil Baluni’s absence was conspicious.
However, in order to quell the speculation, Rawat and Baluni on Saturday called on Dushyant Gautam at the BJP’s national headquarters. This interaction comes at a time when the party is recalibrating its organisational strategy ahead of the upcoming electoral cycles and intensifying its outreach in the hill state.
According to sources close to Rawat, during the meeting, the leaders engaged in a detailed discussion on a range of contemporary issues concerning Uttarakhand, including developmental priorities, organisational restructuring, and future political strategies. The deliberations were marked by a shared commitment to bolstering the party’s presence across the state, particularly in light of recent shifts in regional political dynamics and the evolving expectations of the electorate. Speaking to the media persons after the meeting, Rawat stated that Gautam’s experience and strategic insight would play a pivotal role in making the BJP organisation in Uttarakhand more robust and cohesive. He added that the party’s renewed focus on development, transparency, and inclusive governance would resonate strongly with the people of the state. Gautam, who has been actively involved in assessing the party’s performance and internal dynamics in Uttarakhand, reiterated the need for disciplined coordination between elected representatives and organisational cadres. He also emphasised the significance of leveraging digital platforms and media outreach to connect with youth and remote communities, especially in ecologically sensitive and disaster-prone regions.
