DEHRADUN, 13 Sept: A case of serious assault has been reported in Vikasnagar. According to the complaint filed by Mahesh Kumar, resident of Udiya Bagh, he was attacked by a large group of youth while returning home from Tehsil Chowk around 8:40 pm. Mahesh alleged that RahuI, son of Naresh, along with 20-25 others, surrounded him and started beating him. The attackers used iron rods, sticks, and lathis, causing serious head injuries. Mahesh also claimed that Rahul threatened him with a khukhri, saying that no one could stop them as his wife is the village pradhan. Police have registered the case and begun investigation. The accused allegedly said they “ruled the area” and abused Mahesh before fleeing from the spot. In his complaint, Mahesh named over 20 individuals involved in the attack, including Sanjay, Robin, Ayush, Nandlal, Neetu, Uday, Vishal, Pankaj, Rajpal, Rahul Yadav alias Bunty, Santosh, Anuj, Sachin alias Mirchi, Om Nishad, Ankit, Tarun, Sunit Prakash, Shiva, Aman, Shubham, Rahul (s/o Shiv Prasad), Abhishek Radhav, and Aman Saini alias Carlos.
