Roorkee, 14 Oct: A disturbing incident has come to light under the Piran Kaliyar police station area of Haridwar district, where three female teachers were allegedly molested and assaulted at a madrasa. The teachers have also accused the maulvi and seven other individuals of molestation and assault. The Piran Kaliyar police have registered a case against the maulvi and all seven accused. Police have immediately begun an investigation into the matter.
The Police stated that a female teacher residing in the Piran Kaliyar police station area has filed a written complaint at the station in this case. In the complaint, the victim has stated that she has been teaching children at the madrasa for several years. The complainant alleged that, on Sunday, she was teaching the children when the maulvi arrived and called her into his room under the pretext of some work.
It is alleged that, inside the room, the maulvi molested the woman, and when she resisted, the accused assaulted her, causing her injuries. The complainant’s colleagues rushed into the room to save her, following which the accused maulvi allegedly called his associates, Rihan, Mohammad Shad, Afaan, Suhail, Aris, and Samee, who all then allegedly beat up all three female teachers.
Furthermore, it is alleged that the accused tore the clothes of the three women during the incident. They were also threatened with murder. The victim further alleged that the maulvi had been ogling at them previously, a matter they had complained about to the madrasa management, but no action was taken at the time. The victim has demanded strict action against the accused in her complaint to the police.
Piran Kaliyar Station House Officer (SHO) Ravindra Kumar stated that, based on the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered against the maulvi and his associates under relevant sections, including molestation, assault, indecent behaviour, and criminal intimidation (threats to kill). He claimed that the investigation has been launched, and appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
