CM Dhami pays tribute to Gen Rawat

Dehradun, 8 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid homage to India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, the late General Bipin Rawat, on his fourth death anniversary here today. The CM laid a wreath at the statue of General Rawat situated in the park at Kanak Chowk here, in a solemn ceremony attended by public representatives, soldiers, and citizens.

Recalling General Rawat’s indomitable courage, exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication to the nation on this occasion, Dhami described Rawat as the pride of Uttarakhand and the country. He emphasised that the life of General Rawat stands as a shining example of patriotism, discipline and duty and added that the life of Rawat will continue to inspire future generations to devote themselves to national service.

Two-minutes silence was also observed on this occasion in memory of the departed soul, with prayers offered for his eternal peace. Dhami reiterated the State Government’s commitment to honouring the martyrs and upholding their legacy of sacrifice.

Sainik Kalyan Minister Ganesh Joshi, MLA Khajan Das, and MLA Savita Kapoor were also present during the tribute, joining the citizens in remembering the distinguished military leader whose service to the nation remains etched in collective memory.
