Dehradun, 26 Dec: Under the leadership of Metropolitan Dehradun President Ramkumar Shankhdhar, the Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha registered a strong protest against the continuous failures and anti-people policies of the Uttarakhand State Government and submitted a memorandum to the Governor, here, today.

The Morcha’s General Secretary, Rajendra Prasad Bhatt, said that the state is currently passing through a phase of fear, corruption, and misgovernance. Continuous attacks by wild animals on civilians have claimed several innocent lives, yet the government has neither implemented concrete safety measures nor provided timely compensation to the affected families.

Parva Doon President Niranjan Chauhan stated that thousands of families affected by natural disasters in the state are still deprived of relief, rehabilitation, and compensation. Disaster victims have been left helpless by the government, which is inhuman and shameful.

State Treasurer Chitrapal Sajwan alleged that corruption is at its peak in the state, unemployment is steadily increasing, and the youth are being forced to migrate. He further said that despite the names of several senior BJP leaders surfacing in the Ankita Bhandari murder case, an impartial and transparent investigation has still not been conducted, leading to widespread public anger.

Vipin Negi, General Secretary (Parva Doon), said that due to the growing terror of the mining mafia in the state, rivers, mountains, and the environment are being destroyed, but the government has completely failed to take action against the mafia.

Mussoorie Assembly President Rajendra Sood issued a clear warning that if concrete action is not taken on all these issues at the earliest, the organisation will intensify its movement across the state and will be compelled to take out another symbolic funeral procession and launch a mass agitation against the Uttarakhand Government, for which the state government itself will be fully responsible.

Ward President Rajpur Pritam Pyare said that development works in the wards are also falling prey to corruption, and the so-called “triple engine” government has continuously failed to put a check on it.

Captain Rajiv Rana demanded that the Governor, while discharging his constitutional responsibilities, issue strict directions to the state government in public interest so that justice may be delivered to the suffering people.

On this occasion, Pritam Pyare, Vijay Kumar, Deepak Mehra, Krishna, Vishal, Narendra, and others were also present.
