NEW DELHI, 10 Jan:  Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhamiled government is committed to transforming Uttarakhand into a year-round global tourist destination, Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said on Saturday.
The State government is working with a clear vision to expand the State’s appeal beyond its traditional spiritual and seasonal attractions, the Minister said.
“We assure all tour and travel operators of every possible cooperation to establish the state as an all-weather tourism hub,” Maharaj said while inaugurating Uttarakhand’s first-ever nationwide integrated Roadshow campaign in the national capital.
The campaign aims to position Uttarakhand as a “Year-Round Tourism Capital,” highlighting adventure, culture, spirituality, wellness, winter sports, and nature experiences accessible across all seasons.
The Minister said the ambitious multi-city outreach programme was conceived under the guidance of Chief Minister Dhami.
Outlining priorities for the sector, the Minister said the State government would promote winter tourism through skiing, winter carnivals, and snow trekking. Plans also include developing Winter Char Dham hubs, highlighting snow leopard habitats, hosting global adventure events, and building new tourism products through strategic partnerships, he added.
Tourism Secretary Dhiraaj Singh Garbyal said the campaign advances the Prime Minister’s vision to make Uttarakhand the Tourism Capital of India and fulfills CM Dhami’s mission to establish a sustainable year-round tourism ecosystem.
“We are committed to promoting tourism in Uttarakhand throughout the winter months, continuing until March every year,” Garbyal said.
The Roadshow campaign will travel to cities such as Pune, Jaipur, and Surat to attract domestic travelers this winter.
Secretary Garbyal said the government targets attracting at least 5 lakh tourists through these roadshows during the current winter season.
The event was attended by over 250 industry stakeholders from Uttarakhand and Delhi NCR, signaling strong sector support as the series prepares to move to major metropolitan hubs across India.
