Haridwar, 21 Jan: The concluding session of the ‘Shodasha Samskara Training Workshop and Lecture Series’, organised by the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy (Government of Uttarakhand), Haridwar, was held here today.
The Chief Guest at the session was Deepak Kumar Gairola, Secretary, Department of Sanskrit Education, Government of Uttarakhand. Other distinguished guests included Prof Dinesh Chandra Shastri, former Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Haridwar; Prof Manoj Kishore Pant, Secretary, Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy; and the Keynote Speaker, Dr Surya Mohan Bhatt, former Principal of Shri Shivnath Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya. The programme was presided over by Ramendri Mandrawal.
At the beginning of the programme, Prof Manoj Kishore Pant, Secretary of the Academy, welcomed the dignitaries and, in his inaugural address, discussed in detail the Academy’s action plans and future initiatives.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Deepak Gairola stated that the Government aims to preserve the Shodasha Samskaras, which are a scientific and spiritual heritage of Indian life traditions. He emphasised the importance of spreading awareness of the significance of the Shodasha Samskaras described in Indian Sanatan culture among the general public, especially the youth.
During the programme, several scholars presented their views and insights on the Shodasha Samskaras.
The event was attended by the Academy’s Research Officers Dr Harish Gururani, Dr Annapurna, Dr Ram Bhushan Bijalwan, Dr Shailendra Dangwal, Dr Anand Mohan Joshi, Dr Santosh Vidyalankar, Dr Vidya Negi, along with Manoj Sharma, Aarti Raturi, Vimmi Singh, Meena Rajput, Yogesh Saklani, and many trainees who participated in the training programme.
