ACS Radha Raturi holds meeting on Master Plan for Purnagiri area

Dehradun, 18 Jan: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Radha Raturi today chaired a meeting at the Secretariat regarding the proposed Master Plan for development of Purnagiri area in Champawat district. During the meeting, she instructed the officials concerned to submit the proposed master plan for the development of Purnagiri area at the earliest. She also directed the District Magistrate, Champawat, and other top officials to finalise the plan as soon as possible and, in the process, work with an integrated approach by also including Chief Minister’s announcements in this regard.

Along with this, Radha Raturi also instructed the District Magistrate to organise regular health camps in the district, especially in remote and inaccessible rural areas, and provide necessary medical facilities and regular health check-ups to pregnant women. In the meeting, the ACS also reviewed the progress of the announcements made by the Chief Minister for Champawat Assembly constituency.

The Urban Development Department informed her that a proposal has been sent by the District Magistrate to the Secretary, Housing, for financial and administrative approval of Rs 45 lakhs for construction of a stadium at Goralchod ground of Champawat. It was also stated that the work on construction of Muktidham in Banbasa will soon be handed over to the Irrigation Department. Work on the DPR is being done by UUSDA regarding laying sewer pipelines in Champawat city area. The government has sought a report from the site selection committee regarding Panchmukhi Gaushala Dham in Champawat. Proceedings are in progress regarding the construction of a community hall in Tanakpur.

The Tourism Department informed her that there are plans for construction of an Adventure Park in Champawat, construction of a Heritage Street, development of Purnagiri area as eco-tourism hub, construction of open-air theatre near Gauralchod Maidan and development of tourism infrastructure near Golju Temple. The proceedings in this regard are in progress. The Public Works Department informed that estimates are being prepared regarding construction of 10 km road in rural areas (in different villages) in Tehsil Champawat.
