Garhwal Post Bureau
Dehradun, June 26: BJP leader Ravindra Jugran met Shailesh Bagauli, Secretary (Personnel) and Secretary to the Chief Minister, to discuss the long-pending recruitment process for nearly 500 Polytechnic Lecturer posts in Uttarakhand.
Jugran informed the Secretary that the recruitment advertisement for around 500 posts was issued on 23 July 2024. However, the examination was stayed by the Uttarakhand High Court just two days before it was scheduled to be held, nearly a year after the advertisement. The matter has remained pending before the court for over one and a half years.
He explained that the stay was related to the prescribed educational qualifications. The Uttarakhand Government has since addressed the issue and submitted its clarification before the High Court. The main contention was that MTech degree holders should also be considered eligible along with BTech candidates. The government has already incorporated this change in the eligibility criteria.
Jugran further said that the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission, which is responsible for conducting the examination, has sought clarification from the state’s Technical Education Department regarding the term “BTech/MTech/equivalent qualification”. The Commission has requested a clear definition of “equivalent qualification” to avoid any future legal disputes.
According to Jugran, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli responded positively and assured him that he would coordinate with the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission and the department concerned to resolve the issue at the earliest.
