PATIALA, 17 Jan: A bust of Giani Gurmukh Singh Musafir, Padma Vibhushan and former Chief Minister of Punjab, was installed at the State Central Library named after him in Patiala. The bust was created by a local prominent sculptor, Jaspal Dugal and it was unveiled by Sardar Tarlochan Singh, Ex MP (Rajya Sabha) Chairman, Minorities Commission, Government of India.

Giani Gyrmukh was Jathedar of Akal Takht, President SGPC and also President of Punjab Congress for 16 years. He remained in jail during the freedom struggle and was a great Punjabi poet, novelist and short story writer as well.
His daughter, Joginder Sant made all efforts to arrange for the Bronze bust of her father. The Musafir family appreciated sculptor Jaspal Dugal’s work, and presented him with a beautiful plaque and pashmina shawl.
