Dehradun, 28 Jul: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today conducted a field inspection of various rain-affected areas in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency, including Kandoli Chidowali, Arya Nagar Nai Basti, Canal Road, and other affected locations, following heavy rainfall. During the visit, he interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns, and issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.
During the inspection, Minister Ganesh Joshi directed officials to take immediate safety measures to prevent further erosion of the retaining wall caused by the seasonal stream in the Kandoli Chidowali area. He instructed them to undertake all necessary works to secure the embankment at the earliest. He emphasised that public safety is the highest priority and directed officials to ensure that there is no negligence in carrying out the required measures.
The Minister also inspected the damaged internal roads in Arya Nagar Nai Basti and instructed officials to restore them without delay. He further directed that residents living in vulnerable areas be shifted to safer locations if required, that sensitive areas be monitored regularly, and that all concerned departments remain fully prepared to undertake relief and rescue operations with utmost vigilance.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also instructed officials to maintain continuous surveillance in the affected areas, ensure proper drainage arrangements, and respond promptly to any emergency situation so as to minimise the loss of life and property.
Surendra Rana, Yogesh Ghaghat, and officials from the district administration were also present on the occasion.
