Dehradun, 13 Dec: Central Academy for State Forest Service, Dehradun, a premier institute in India to train State Forest Service Officers, is holding a three-day training workshop (13 to 15 December) on ‘Operationalising Successful Ecotourism’ for tour managers, home stay operators, conservationists, nature guides, enthusiasts, etc., sponsored by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
Over the course of three immersive days, participants will have the opportunity to engage with leading experts, thought leaders, and practitioners who have demonstrated remarkable success in balancing the dual objectives of promoting tourism and safeguarding the natural environment together. Through a combination of interactive workshops, case studies, and practical learning, the participants of this training programme will gain a comprehensive understanding of the key principles, best practices, and innovative methodologies necessary to establish, manage, and sustain ecotourism initiatives that contribute to local economies while preserving the ecological integrity of fragile ecosystems.
By embracing a holistic approach that integrates environmental stewardship, community engagement, and economic viability, this training programme seeks to empower participants with the requisite skills to navigate the intricacies of ecotourism development and foster a culture of responsible and impactful tourism within their respective spheres of influence.
Dr Dhananjai Mohah, PCCF & Chairman (UKBB), Dehradun, was the Chief Guest at the training workshop. In his keynote address, he emphasised that the enhancement of Ecotourism had to be undertaken with positivity, conservation of ecosystem and Nature.
Meenakshi Joshi, Principal, Central Academy for State Forest Service, and Ankit Gupta, Scientist-C, Course Director, and faculty members welcomed the Chief Guest and participants on this occasion and felicitated them.
