CDO Abhinav Shah directs timely disposal of claims, objections in Voter Lists revision

DEHRADUN, 2 May: Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah chaired a review meeting in his office to assess progress under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme here today. Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of the Assembly constituencies concerned joined the meeting virtually. Shah emphasised on the need to accelerate the revision work and directed that claims and objections related to the voter list be disposed of within the stipulated timeframe on priority, ensuring transparency in the process. He instructed officials to maintain strict vigilance at the regional level and avoid any negligence, while stressing that coordination among all concerned officers was essential to make the revision process timely and successful.
During the meeting, progress of the ongoing work was reviewed and directions were issued to enhance the pace of activities. Shah said that all officers must achieve the set targets within the prescribed schedule and ensure that the voter list is made error-free. He noted that 78.52 per cent of the mapping work under the special intensive revision had been completed in the district. Among the constituencies, Chakrata recorded 90.46 per cent, Vikasnagar 79.81, Sahaspur 80.64, Dharampur 76.58, Raipur 75.83, Rajpur Road 73.36, Dehradun Cantt 76.52, Mussoorie 77.29, Doiwala 79.45 and Rishikesh 76.26 per cent mapping completion.
The CDO directed all AEROs to further improve the progress of mapping work by reviewing the daily activities of Booth Level Officers at their respective levels. He reiterated that the voter list must be free from errors and that the revision process should be completed within the stipulated time to uphold the integrity of the electoral roll.
