Dehradun, 23 May: The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate, Dehradun, conducted a slogan writing and logo designing competition at DAV Public School, Defence Colony, here today as part of its GST awareness programme.
Principal Commissioner, CGST Commissionerate Dehradun, Shubh Chintan, along with Additional Commissioner Arun Kumar Gupta, Joint Commissioner Vivekanand Maurya, Assistant Commissioner Tapas Chakraborty, and other officials participated in the event alongside the school principal, teachers, and students.
The programme commenced with Arun Kumar Gupta introducing GST and elaborating on its significance in daily life and nation-building. A video presentation was then screened for students to simplify the concept of GST and highlight its role in the national economy. Following this, ‘Logo Designing’ and ‘Slogan Writing’ competitions were conducted in which students showcased their creativity.
Among the participants, Gauri Thapliyal secured first place, Priyanshi Bisht was awarded second, and Aarav Sinha secured third spot in the logo designing category. In the slogan writing competition, Markandey Tripathi won first place, followed by Riddhima Gusain standing second and Manasvi Rana securing third position.
Addressing the students, Principal Commissioner Shubh Chintan encouraged them to dream big and strive diligently toward their goals. Quoting lines from his poem, he remarked, “Nanhi ankhiyon me bade khwab chhip baithe hain aur in chirag mein aftab chhip baithe hain.” The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, followed by a vote of thanks proposed by the school Principal, Shalini Samadhiya, who commended the enthusiastic participation of students and teachers.
