Chief Minister reviews issues pending between UP & U’khand

Dehradun, 2 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday chaired a review meeting at the Secretariat to discuss pending matters related to residual assets and liabilities between the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite resolution of issues where consensus had been reached in previous meetings between the two states. He ordered that, for matters currently in progress, follow-up meetings with Uttar Pradesh officials should be held to ensure timely resolution.

Chief Minister Dhami will soon hold a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to address and resolve remaining inter-state matters.

Following the previous meeting between the Chief Ministers of both states, permission has been granted for water sports activities in the reservoirs and canals located in Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts. The Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department has paid Rs 57.87 crore towards electricity bills. The Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Corporation has transferred Rs 3.98 crore to the Uttarakhand Fisheries Development Agency. Partial payments have also been made to the Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation. The outstanding dues of the Transport Corporation have been cleared. A decision has also been taken regarding the disposal of properties under the Housing Development Council within the Housing Department.

Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Dr Neeraj Kharwal, and other departmental officials.
