Dehradun, 21 Jan: Students from the Changthang region of the Union Territory of Ladakh, who are on a “National Unity Tour”, met Governor Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd) at the Raj Bhavan, here, today. The tour has been organised under the Indian Army’s “Operation Sadbhavana” and includes 20 students along with two teachers from the Fobrang area.
These children, who are visiting outside their region for the first time, are visiting various institutions in New Delhi, Chandigarh, and Dehradun. During their stay in Delhi, they also met the President of India. The objective of this tour is to give these children a direct experience of the country’s culture, traditions, technological and economic progress, and to broaden their knowledge and career opportunities.
In a conversation with the students, led by Major Anshuman Sharma of the 14th Corps Headquarters of the Indian Army, the Governor encouraged them to set big goals in life and work towards realising their dreams. He told the children that success requires hard work, dedication, and commitment. He advised them to adopt the experiences gained during the tour in their lives and strive for expertise in the fields they wish to pursue.
The Governor further motivated the children by saying that they should always set big goals and work extra hard to achieve them. He emphasised that this journey would bring new perspectives and inspiration into their lives. The Governor also praised the Indian Army and “Operation Sadbhavana”, noting that such programmes play a vital role in strengthening national unity and contributing to the overall development of children in remote areas.
