Dehradun, 5 Aug: State Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj described the tragic and heart-wrenching incident of cloudburst in the Kheer Ganga River at Dharali village of Uttarkashi district as unfortunate. He spoke with the District Magistrate over the phone to review the ongoing relief and rescue operations.
Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj stated that the tragic and heart-wrenching incident of cloudburst occurred in the Kheer Ganga River at Dharali village of Uttarkashi district. Immediately after the incident, personnel from the Seva teams, NDRF, and SDRF rescue teams reached the site, and the government is conducting relief and rescue operations on a war footing.
He further stated that a similar incident had occurred there around 80 years ago, and this is a recurrence of that tragedy. At present, the entire government is vigilant, and under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the entire rescue operation is underway. Officers from the Irrigation and Public Works Departments are present at the site and closely monitoring the entire situation.
