Birmingham, 28 Sep: On the second day of his visit to Britain, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a roadshow organised for the Global Investors’ Summit here and held a meeting with various industrialists. More than 250 delegates from sectors such as education, IT, health and manufacturing industries participated during the roadshow. During the road show, investors sought information from Uttarakhand officials about various policies.
During the meetings, Chief Minister Dhami also invited all the investors for the Global Investors’ Summit to be organised in the month of December. Along with this, Chief Minister Dhami assured all the investors full cooperation from the Uttarakhand government.
The CM said that Birmingham is a historical city and holds a prominent place in the field of industry. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to all the Indians living in London and Birmingham and the Uttarakhand Diaspora for their immense love. He said that Uttarakhand is a state situated in the lap of Himalayas which is full of natural resources. Its peaceful valleys and conducive working environment make it different from other places. The Chief Minister said that the theme of the Global Investors’ Summit to be organised in Uttarakhand has been kept as “Peace to Prosperity”. He reminded them that Uttarakhand is just a short distance from India’s national capital, Delhi, and is directly connected with good road, rail and air connectivity, hence, there are immense possibilities for investment in the state.
Chief Minister Dhami reminded that, recently, India successfully organised the G20 summit under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, proving its efficient leadership before the entire world. He said that India has proved its far-reaching approach with the success of the Chandrayaan Mission. He said that, in the last 9 years, there has been a gradual increase in the self-respect of India and every Indian. The Chief Minister added that Britain provides the sixth largest number of investors in India, with more than 600 industrial units working across the country.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami also thanked the Consulate General of India in Birmingham for its cooperation in organising the programme.
MoUs worth Rs 3,000 crores signed in UK on day 3

London, 28 Sep: Investment MoUs worth Rs 3000 crores were signed on the third day of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s ongoing tour to the United Kingdom, today. As per official sources, an MoU worth Rs 2,000 crores was signed with Agar Technology and another worth Rs 1,000 crores was signed with Fira Barcelona. In addition, two MoUs were also signed with ‘Ease My Trip’ platform for creation of OTA and for promotion of Uttarakhand at the global level in tourism sector. All the MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister Dhami.
M/s Agar Technology has agreed to invest in lithium battery plants in Uttarakhand. Fira Barcelona is a prestigious Spanish company that organises world class business fairs and conventions. Secretary, Industries, Vinay Shankar Pandey signed the MoU on behalf of the state government.
Apart from this, two MoUs were also signed with EaseMy Trip and under the agreement, it agreed to create a state-supported OTA (Online Travel Aggregator) and promote Uttarakhand in the world for tourism. This will create a large number of employment opportunities for the people of Uttarakhand.
Secretary to Chief Minister Dr R Meenakshi Sundaram, Director General, Industries, Rohit Meena along with other officials of the delegation and investors were also present.
