Dehradun, 14 Jan: The BJP will release its party manifesto, called Sankalp Patra, for the ongoing municipal elections tomorrow. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will release the party manifesto at a special function to be held at the State Party Headquarters here tomorrow.
The manifesto will highlight the ‘achievements’ of the double-engine government and will also include the party’s plans and the promises for the upcoming civic elections in the state.

Speaking to the media, BJP State General Secretary Aditya Kothari shared that the manifesto will be unveiled at a programme organised at the party headquarters tomorrow at 10 a.m. The Chief Minister, along with his cabinet ministers, party state officials, MLAs, and senior workers, will make the Sankalp Patra public.
Kothari claimed that the manifesto has been prepared based on extensive deliberations and public suggestions. It would also include a state-level resolution and separate resolutions for each of the 11 municipal corporations. The party aims to present its government’s achievements and action plans for the development of the municipal bodies through this manifesto.
Kothari reminded that the circumstances and problems of each municipal body are unique, and therefore, the solutions need to be tailored accordingly. The party has prepared a Sankalp Patra for the entire state and separate Sankalp Patras for each municipal corporation. Following the release at the party headquarters, these will be presented to the public through public meetings in all the districts and municipal areas, involving local MLAs, party in-charges, and office bearers responsible for the municipal bodies.
Regarding the election campaign, Kothari shared that the final phase of the campaign would be led by the CM with full vigour. Starting from Karnaprayag, the CM would conduct a total of 28 public meetings and roadshows. All the star campaigners, including the state president, will participate in over 200 programmes and public meetings across the Garhwal region, including public meetings, roadshows, padayatras, public relations programs, meetings, bike rallies, and cultural programmes.
In response to a question about the possibility of Congress MLA Mayukh Mahra joining the BJP, Kothari asserted that the party welcomes anyone who agrees with its policies and is willing to contribute to the development of the organisation, state, and country. He reminded that since the Lok Sabha elections, more than 15,000 Congress members have joined the BJP. He also claimed that a large number of Congress leaders are currently in touch with the BJP leadership, and appropriate decisions will be made in the future. It may be recalled that Congress MLA from Pithoragarh, Mayukh Mahar, once considered to be close to veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat has fielded his wife as a rebel mayoral candidate from Pithoragarh. The Congress leadership has written to the Central leadership recommending disciplinary action against Mahar.
