CM Trivendra felicitates families of freedom fighters

DEHRADUN, 24 Jan: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premchand Aggarwal felicitated the families of freedom fighters at Thano on Thursday. On the occasion, families of 12 freedom fighters were extended honours.
Among those honoured include dependents of Hari Singh Solanki, Kishan Singh, Bhuria Singh, Buddhi Prakash, Pancham Singh Krishali, Dev Narayan, Sainpal Singh Bhidola, Padam Singh Solanki, Surat Singh Chauhan, Gaurish Verma, Bankelal Garg and Madan Singh Rawat.
The Chief Minister said that Thano was an area associated with the memories of the freedom fighters, who contributed significantly to the country’s independence. The freedom fighters were a source of inspiration. Their sacrifice and contribution to the nation’s freedom would inspire the new generation, whenever the need to protect the country arose.
To preserve the memories of the freedom fighters, the Chief Minister sought a proposal for the renovation of the water tank and school in Thano. He said that the Thano and Raipur hospitals had been handed over to AIIMS, which would provide the health facilities. Proposals have been sent to AIIMS Rishikesh to start services in these hospitals. Two assistants would soon be recruited in AIIMS, who would provide information about health related facilities to patients. The Chief Minister said that, for the major works related to development in the area like electricity, water, roads, etc., proposals ought to be sent through public representatives and they would be resolved soon.
He announced that a 300-bed maternity hospital would be opened in Harrawala and its foundation stone would be laid soon.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premchand Aggarwal said that freedom fighters had sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country and it was the present generation to take responsibility for their families. While remembering the brave freedom fighters, he described them as a symbol of courage and heroism.
Also present on the occasion were Chairman of Dairy Federation Brij Bhushan Gairola, Asha Kothari, Navin Chaudhary, OSD KS Panwar, Rajendra Manwal, Harish Kothari, Birendra Krishali, etc.
