DEHRADUN, 8 Aug: Cricketer Rishabh Pant has publicly sought Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s intervention to help him acquire land in Uttarakhand, expressing his wish to shift base from Delhi and build his first home in his native state. In his tweets addressed to CM Dhami, Pant said he had been trying for three years without any success and requested that the Government either facilitate the process or even consider allocating land as a gesture, though he was willing to purchase it at Government rates.

Responding to Pant’s appeal also through a tweet, CM Dhami assured him of assistance, calling him the pride of Uttarakhand and lauding his desire to return and contribute to his homeland. Dhami stated that senior officials have been directed to contact Pant and extend all possible cooperation within the rules.

At this juncture, it may be recalled that while it is usual and common for the celebrities to seek help of the Government and the sitting chief ministers in land acquisition to set up some facility like sports coaching centre or some academic institution, they usually prefer to seek the help privately by meeting the CMs or the top government officials. However, in this rather unusual case, Pant has sought the help of the CM openly and through a couple of posts on X, to which surprisingly, the Chief Minister also posted his positive response through X.
