Mussoorie, 13 Aug: Social worker Mahimanand, a resident of Barlowganj, met Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, today, and sought the reconstruction of the damaged road from Maryville Estate, Barlowganj, to Khetwara.

He said that there is no railing on the side of the road, due to which an accident can happen at anytime, while the electric poles on the roadside are also missing. There is moss on the roads, due to which pedestrians slip and get injured. The Municipal Administration is not paying attention to these problems.

He added that local buses are also not being operated in Barlowganj-Jharipani area for a long time, due to which the local people are facing a lot of difficulty in commuting to Mussoorie.

He asked the Chief Secretary to direct the Nagar Palika and the local administration to repair the damaged roads and install parapets on the roadside. Also, the operation of local buses should be started on the route.

Mahimanand said that the Chief Secretary assured that positive action would be taken on these issues.
