Dehradun, 22 Sep: Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu chaired a meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat here, today, on the shifting of Arhat Bazaar in Dehradun. The Chief Secretary instructed the officials to speed up construction of the new Arhat Bazaar. He also sought from the MDDA a clear timetable for completion of work at each level from commencement till the completion of the project.
Sandhu stressed that, while developing the area, special attention should be given to all the basic needs. Appropriate places should be earmarked for fire-fighting services, etc. The selected land should be utilised in maximum and optimal manner. He said that there should be no compromise with the quality of construction work. The allotment of shops should be done in advance after consulting the stakeholders, so that the traders know which shop is allotted to them. Suggestions must be taken from them so that the design of the shop suits the business. He said that once the shop is allotted, the traders themselves will be able to take care of the quality of the work.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, Secretary SN Pandey, District Magistrate, Dehradun, Sonika, Vice Chairman, Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority, Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar and other officers were present.
