Mussoorie, 15 Nov: Children’s Day at Central School for Tibetans began with offering of floral tribute and holy scarf before the portrait of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru by Principal SP Singh, Rector Bhutok Shastri and all the teachers and staff members of the school.
The celebrations were flagged off by the teachers who assumed the roles of students and presented morning assembly activities. Then, a cultural extravaganza followed with speeches, dance performances and songs aptly dedicated to the children by the teaching community, who spared no efforts in expressing their deep sense of love and affection.
Principal SP Singh spoke about the life of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru and highlighted the role of children in nation building. The Rector of the school also said some words of wisdom on the true ethos of Nehru’s vision. The school captains and prefects were also felicitated.
Dr KP Verma, NC Pant, Renu Shukla, Thakchoe Tsering, Pema Lhanzey, Pradeep Kumar, Rev Tasi Dolma, Tashi Chokey, Tenzin Lhawang, Tsulrim Wangmo, ASS Kanderi, Belvanshi, Sweta Agarwal, Minakshi Panwar, Pankaj Patiyal and Jagmohan Lakheda contributed immensely by presenting a wide range of cultural activities. SC Rauto coordinated the entire programme.
