DDPSA Inter-School Badminton Tournament held at Mount Fort Academy

Dehradun, 8 Oct: The DDPSA Inter-School Badminton Tournament was hosted at Mount Fort Academy on 6 and 7 October. Fifteen renowned schools of Dehradun took part in the tournament. In all there were four categories to the tournament namely Junior Girls and Boys and Senior Girls and Boys. The boys and the girls of the participating schools participate in the event with grit and determination.

After the Pre-Quarterfinals and Quarterfinals on 6 October, the teams that advanced to the Semifinals and Finals were: Senior Girls: Convent of Jesus and Mary and Welham Girls’ School. Junior Girls: St Jude’s School and Convent of Jesus and Mary. Senior Boys: New Doon Blossom School and St Jude’s School. Junior Boys: The Heritage School and New Doon Blossom School.

At the end of the day the tally stood as follows:
In the Senior Girls category – Saanvi Solanki of Convent of Jesus and Mary lifted the trophy, while Kyana Gupta of Welham Girls’ School secured the Runner-up position.

In the Junior Girls category – Dakshita Chhetri of St Jude’s School emerged victorious, with Ishani Shastri of Convent of Jesus and Mary finishing as Runner-up.

In the Senior Boys category – Shaurya Singh Nabiyal of St. Jude’s School claimed the title, while Abhijeet Bisht of New Doon Blossom School finished as Runner-up.

In the Junior Boys category – Devyan Makhloga of New Doon Blossom School emerged as the winner, with Arnav Miyan of The Heritage School taking the Runner-up position.

The Principal, Dr Paarul Sharma, congratulated all the winners on their accomplishment and thanked all the Heads of Schools profusely for sending the students from their respective schools to participate in the Tournament. She also expressed her gratitude towards the two PTIs, Raghvendra S. Rana and Khushi Gurung who worked tirelessly to organise the event. She also commended the hard-work of the Student Council who lent a helping hand to the PTIs wherever it was needed.
