All depts directed to buy ‘House of Himalayas’ products

Dehradun, 30 Oct: ‘House of Himalayas’ products will now be purchased for meetings and events of all departments and offices under the Uttarakhand government. It may be recalled that ‘House of Himalayas’ is an umbrella brand established by the government for the promotion of products made by women self-help groups, farmers, farmer-producer organisations, and rural entrepreneurs of Uttarakhand. It may be recalled that this umbrella brand was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Global Investors’ Summit in Dehradun.
According to Secretary Radhika Jha, the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand, operated under the Rural Development Department, has been successful in making a mark in a short time for its quality. House of Himalayas products are also available on the e-commerce portals.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi wrote a letter to the heads of all departments and offices, today, asking them to purchase the products of House of Himalayas on a priority basis for various departmental and office meetings, programmes and functions, celebrations, and main festivals like Holi and Diwali. This, she stated, would boost the economy of rural areas.
Commenting on this, Chief Minister Dhami has stated that taking inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vocal for Local mantra, the Uttarakhand government is promoting the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand. Quality products of the House of Himalayas brand are also available as gift packs for big occasions like Diwali. On this occasion, he also appealed to the people of the state to purchase these products and contribute towards increasing the livelihood of rural entrepreneurs from the state.
