Dehradun, 20 Feb: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today congratulated the Finance Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal and the entire team for presenting a historic budget in the Silver Jubilee Year of Uttarakhand during a formal media interaction after the budget presentation in the Assembly. The CM insisted that the budget reflects the state government’s priorities and future plans.

During this informal chat with media persons, Dhami reminded that the budget size has crossed Rs 1 lakh crores in the Silver Jubilee Year of the state’s formation, marking a 13 percent increase as compared to the previous budget. He also reminded that the budget for FY 2025-26 is 24 times larger than the first budget of Uttarakhand. It focuses on ecology, economy, innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable development, alongside technology and accountability. He added that the budget includes new initiatives such as the River Front Development Scheme, formation of the Pravasi Uttarakhand Parishad, operation of electric buses under the Smart City project, establishment of a Sports’ University, creation of a Home Guard Welfare Fund, and establishment of a revolving fund for the encouragement of police personnel.

Dhami added that the budget is themed around innovation aiming at a self-reliant Uttarakhand, great heritage, and dynamic human resources. It centres on inclusive and holistic development, focusing on the welfare of the poor, youth, farmers, and women. The state government has placed special emphasis on financial management and aims to increase state revenue through its resources. The budget also pays special attention to the development of education, rural development, infrastructure, healthcare, and industries.

The CM further claimed that the budget aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”. He noted that the PM had declared from Baba Kedarnath Dham that the third decade of this century would be Uttarakhand’s decade. The budget aims to fulfil this resolve, setting a milestone for the state’s future development. It is designed to create an ideal Uttarakhand and elevate the state to the ranks of the leading states in the country.
