Dehradun, 11 Jul:  Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today held interactions with several individuals who had submitted written grievances to the Chief Minister’s Office and, subsequently, instructed the related departmental officials to undertake appropriate and prompt action on the issues raised.

The complainants included Karamchand from Shergarh in Doiwala tehsil, who reported a disruption in the irrigation canal servicing his agricultural land, resulting in an acute water shortage. After going through the matter in full, the CM directed the Principal Engineer of the Irrigation Department to address the issue with suitable remedial measures.

In another instance, Naresh Kumar Saklani had submitted a complaint regarding land encroachment by private individuals constructing a minor irrigation canal. In response, the CM issued instructions to the District Magistrate, Dehradun, to undertake immediate corrective action. Similarly, Dhirendra Shukla, a resident of Canal Road in Dehradun had lodged a complaint of harassment by a builder, prompting the CM to direct the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) to carry out an investigation into the matter.

Bishan Dutt Sharma of Dinkar Vihar, Vikasnagar, had raised concerns related to the condition of a local road, on which Dhami instructed the Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD) to take necessary action in this regard.

Later, commenting on these engagements, the CM observed that letters or the complaints sent by the citizens are not mere documents but embodiments of citizens’ hope and confidence in governance. He shared that he had personally reviewed such complaint letters and spoken with the respective petitioners and accordingly instructed the officials to act expeditiously.
