Dhami inaugurates, lays foundation stones for projects worth Rs 210 crores in Purola

Purola (Uttarkashi), 9 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various development projects totalling approximately Rs 210 crores at a programme held in Purola, Uttarkashi. This includes the inauguration of 35 projects and laying foundation stones for 20 projects.

On this occasion, the CM also announced the upgradation of the sports ground in Purola, the beautification of Karn Maharaj Temple in Devra village, Mori, the beautification of Rudreshwar Mahadev Temple in Naugaon, the expansion of Naugaon Community Health Centre, the construction of a bypass for the Purola-Naugaon motor road via Dukana Road to Mori Band, and the announcement of a tourist area from Deojani Ora in Patti Gadugad, Mori, to Kedar Kantha.

The CM also stated that the projects inaugurated today and those the foundation of which were laid would directly benefit lakhs of people residing in Purola and surrounding areas of Uttarkashi district. These projects would play a crucial role in the overall development of the region and in improving the living standards of citizens. These development schemes would boost economic growth in the area and also contribute to better connectivity and increased employment opportunities.

Dhami also asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is continuously progressing. He mentioned that the state government is committed to fulfilling all previously made announcements within each assembly constituency. Dhami also reminded that the eleven-year tenure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership has been dedicated to service, good governance, and the welfare of the poor.

The CM emphasised that the state government’s priority is to complete the projects whose foundation stones are being laid. He claimed that the state government is taking strict action against those with criminal mindsets. A stringent land law has been implemented in the state. Furthermore, Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). He reiterated that the state government is adopting a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

Dhami expressed that the development works undertaken in the fields of education, health, drinking water, and roads in the Purola region would prove to be a milestone in the area’s development, leading to its integrated growth. He added that the region holds immense potential in the tourism and horticulture sectors.

Earlier, Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal extended his greetings to the CM on behalf of the entire region. He thanked the CM for the land for the hospital in the Rawai region and for sanctioning the construction of the Mori-Jakhol motor road. He remarked that, under the CM’s leadership, historic works like zero tolerance against corruption, UCC implementation, and the Silkyara tunnel rescue operation have been accomplished.

Also present on the occasion were Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan, former MLA Mal Chand, BJP District President Nagendra Chauhan, State Ministers Pratap Singh Panwar, Ramsundar Nautiyal, Jagat Singh, Purola Municipal Council President Bihari Lal Shah, District Magistrate Dr Meharban Singh Bisht, Superintendent of Police Sarita Dobhal, and other dignitaries.
