CM visits disaster affected areas in district Tehri

New Tehri, 22 Aug: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Ghutthu-Panja-Devling Tehri in Tehri district today and conducted a field inspection of the ongoing relief and rescue operations in the disaster affected area. The Chief Minister also met the disaster affected family member Durga Devi, wife of Vishal Mani, in Malethi, and assured all possible help to the family. It may be recalled that, last night, heavy rains had caused a landslide in the area and destroyed a number of houses.
The CM noted that there has been a lot of damage due to cloudburst in Ghutthu. Many houses and cattle have come under the grip of the disaster. He directed the district administration to provide immediate assistance to the disaster affected, assess the damage in disaster hit areas and immediately carry out the reconstruction work. He said that lack of funds for reconstruction work must not be allowed to come in the way, and that efforts will be made to compensate for the loss caused by the disaster as soon as possible. At the complaint of the villagers, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate to get the houses re-tested regarding the damage caused to the houses by the Ghutthu Hydro Power project.
District Magistrate Mayur Dixit shared with the CM that 29 buildings have been damaged in Ghutthu area of Tehsil Ghansali due to heavy rainfall last night, in which 6 buildings are completely damaged while 23 buildings are partially damaged. So far, an amount of Rs 10 lakhs has been given for about 9 damaged houses as ex-gratia relief amount against the house damage as per rules. People of about 20 families of partially damaged buildings have been kept in disaster relief camps for their safety, for whom all necessary arrangements are being made. He said that after the situation becomes normal, if there will be a need for rehabilitation of some villages, then necessary action will be taken as per rules, or those who want to go to rented houses will be given rent as per rules. He said that 17 animals have been lost due to the disaster, in which necessary action is being taken as per rules. About 24 drinking water lines have been damaged. Along with this, other assets like power lines, roads, culverts, etc., have suffered a lot of damage. So far, the agricultural damage to 450 families has been assessed. Road connectivity of around 4 villages has been cut off, and the process of restoring them is underway.
The DM shared with the media that, due to the disaster, many villages like Malethi, Chandla, Gavana Malla, Gavana Talla, Kailbagi, Devlang, Jogiana, Gangeri, Chakragaon, Maletha, Ranidhang, Panja, Mendu Sindhwal, Sankari, Lom, Samangaon, Miswali, Bhatgaon, Ankwan village, Raitgaon, Bhelunta, etc., have suffered the brunt of the damage.
On this occasion, MLA Ghansali Shakti Lal Shah, SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, SDM Apoorva Singh, DSO Manoj Dobhal, Executive Engineer, Electricity, Amit Anand, Executive Engineer, PWD Ghansali, Dinesh Nautiyal, Executive Engineer, Drinking Water Corporation, KN Semwal, Executive Engineer, PMGSY, Pawan Kumar were also present.
