Dehradun, 16 Jul: Taking cognisance of the arrest of the Block Education Officer in the bribery case by the Vigilance in Khanpur block of Haridwar district, Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has ordered suspension of the official. The accused Block Education Officer Ayazuddin has been suspended with immediate effect and attached to the CEO office Haridwar. Along with this, instructions have also been given to the departmental officers to investigate into his wrongdoings. Apart from this, Dhan Singh Rawat has also taken cognisance of a viral video of a teacher posted in the Pre-Secondary School Ranakot of Kot block of Pauri district who reached the school in a drunken state and has directed District Basic Education Officer Pauri to suspend the drunk teacher.
Rawat said that on one hand the government is engaged in strengthening the education system in the state, on the other hand some employees are not refraining from tarnishing the image of the department. He said that any kind of unethical activities will not be tolerated under the department. He reminded said that last Friday in Khanpur block of Haridwar, Vigilance had caught Block Education Officer Ayazuddin red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 10 thousand. He has been suspended with immediate effect. Along with this, the accused BEO has been attached to the CEO office Haridwar and instructions have also been given for departmental investigation.
Departmental Minister Dr Rawat has also taken cognizance of the video of drunk teacher Suresh Kumar Nautiyal going viral on social media. The viral video is of Pauri district, and the person is said to be an assistant teacher in the Pre-Secondary School Ranakot of Kot block. Rawat said that instructions to immediately suspend the drunk teacher have been given to the District Basic Education Officer Pauri.
