DEHRADUN, 15 Oct: According to sources in the SIT investigating the Ankita Bhandari murder case, the DNA report in Ankita Bhandari murder case has been received. The DNA report does not confirm rape of Bhandari, the sources claim. It may be recalled that earlier the post-mortem report too had remained inconclusive about rape of late Ankita Bhandari, who had been murdered on 18 September by her employer Pulkit Arya, who threw her into Chilla Canal. In addition, some electronic evidences gathered by the SIT have also been sent to Central Special Laboratory in Chandigarh. Some of the reports have reportedly been received by the SIT, while reports of other evidences sent for testing are still awaited.
According to ADG Law & Order V Murugesan, the swab sample sent to the Forensic laboratory have been received and it is negative. Sources also indicated that the chargesheet against the accused in the murder case, Pulkit Arya and others is in the final stages of preparation and could soon be filed in the court by the SIT. It may be recalled that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had promised fast court hearing of the case.
Meanwhile it has been found that Vanantara Resort where Ankita Bhandari worked as a receptionist has not been registered with the Tourism Department nor had it taken any fire clearance for operation. Action has been initiated also by the Tourism Department after SIT’s letter was received by the Tourism Department in this respect.
