DPC clears promotions of senior IAS & IPS officers, U’khand to get 8 new Secretaries

Dehradun, 30 Dec: Uttarakhand is set to have eight new secretaries from 1 January, 2026 following a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee for IAS and IPS officers held yesterday in which many promotions were cleared. The DPC meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. A separate meeting of the DPC for Indian Forest Service officers was also due to be held today, in which five IFS officers are expected to be granted the junior administrative grade, while three officers are being promoted to the senior grade.

As part of the decisions taken by the DPC, eight IAS officers have been promoted, of whom five have been awarded the selection grade.

IAS officers Ahmad Iqbal, Eva Srivastava, Sonika, Ranjana Rajguru, Anandswarup, Devkrishna Tiwari, Umesh Narayan Pandey and Rajendra Kumar will assume charge as secretaries from 1 January, 2026. All these officers are presently posted as additional secretaries. Eva Srivastava, who is currently on central deputation, has been granted proforma promotion. In addition, five IAS officers, namely Mayur Dixit, Vandana, Vineet Kumar, Reena Joshi and Anand Srivastava, have been promoted from selection grade level 12 to level 13.

In addition, the DPC also cleared promotions of nine IPS officers with effect from 1 January. IPS officer Abhinav Kumar has been promoted from the rank of Additional Director General to Director General, Nivedita Kukreti from DIG to IG while Prahlad Meena will be promoted from Senior Superintendent of Police to DIG. In addition, IPS officers Barinderjit Singh and P Renuka Devi have been promoted from DIG to IG but they have been granted proforma promotions as they are presently on deputation. Preeti Priyadarshini and Yashwant Chauhan have been elevated from Senior Superintendent of Police to DIG, while Tripti Bhatt and Ramchandra Rajguru have been promoted from SP to SSP. IPS officer Arpan Yadavanshi has been granted selection grade, while Nisha Yadav and Jitendra Chauhan had earlier been cleared for promotion to the rank of Superintendent of Police.
