CM leads tree plantation drive at City Park on World Environment Day

Dehradun, 5 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a tree plantation programme organised today at City Park near Sahastradhara helipad on the occasion of World Environment Day. Many species of plants were planted on this occasion.
Addressing those present, the Chief Minister said that today is an important day to take a pledge to protect the environment and save water sources. He appealed to the people of the state and to all the families living in the state to contribute towards water conservation. He observed that the Himalayan mountains have an important role in providing clean air and water to the world. He said that the responsibility of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand increases further for environmental protection under the given circumstances.
Urban Development Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, outgoing Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, Vice President MDDA Banshidhar Tiwari were among those present on this occasion.
