Dehradun, 1 Jul: Under the directions of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, cheques amounting to a total of Rs 5.14 lakhs were distributed as ex-gratia assistance to 22 individuals affected by natural disasters within the Sadar Tehsil. This financial aid was provided to those who suffered human loss as well as partial damage to both kutcha and pucca houses due to excessive rainfall.
In Kanwali, Dehradun, following the death of Arvind, son of Prem Lala, due to a natural calamity, his wife Meena Devi was granted a relief amount of Rs 4 lakh. In Garhi, Amit Kumar Sharma received Rs 11,500 after his pucca house was partially damaged. In Rikhouli, Savita Devi and Arpit Bisht were each given Rs 4,000 for partial damage to their kutcha houses, while Yogesh Kshetri and Bhakt Bahadur of Ghanghor received cheques of Rs 6,500 each for similar damage to their pucca houses.
In Brahmpuri Lohiya Nagar, Saraleen, Sagir, Noorjahan, and Sattar Ahmed were provided Rs 2,500 each for partial damage to their kutcha houses. In Baniya Bazaar, Birpur, Rekha Bhandari, Mohini Shahi, Ritika Kannaujia, Kusum Verma, Pooja Sharma, Komal, Veer Bahadur, Atul, and Dal Bahadur each received cheques of Rs 5,000 as assistance. In Jakhan, Ashraf Ali and Kishan Thapa were given Rs 11,500 each for damage to their pucca houses. In Sarona, Ranveer Singh was awarded Rs 4,000 for partial damage to his kutcha residential building.
District Magistrate Savin Bansal has instructed all SDMs to conduct a comprehensive assessment of disaster-affected areas in every tehsil and to ensure immediate disbursement of assistance to those affected.
